This unique Native American artwork depicts an appaloosa war pony stone mosaic cut from granite, with a tiger-eye eye and real horse hair for his mane. Native Americans revered horses and strongly believed in symbolism. They often decorated their horses with war or power symbols, to give him protection or indicated his courageous heart.

The red circling his eye is to bring him stronger eyesight. The red color (crushed red jade) symbolizes strength, power and success. Red jade symbolizes strength, healing and love.

The yellow slashes (crushed bumble bee jasper) across his face indicate successful defeat of enemy village. Yellow symbolizes a warrior’s willingness to fight to the death, his horse’s intelligence and a strong heart. Bumble bee jasper is a nurturing stone to calm nerves, overcome obstacles and strengthens an unshakable belief in oneself.

The straight blue arrow (crushed blue quartz & sodalite & lapis) is a symbol of victory. The blue color is like water and sky and evokes that wisdom, confidence and hope. Blue quartz calms and alleviates fear. Sodalite calms the heart to allow inner peace. Lapis is a stone of wisdom and truth.

The feathers—especially the eagle feather—show how highly regarded the horse is. Eagle feathers are considered very strong medicine symbolizing strength and bravery.
